When you listen to Donnie Ray Flatt it is clear how strongly he is influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, BB King, Albert King, Robert Johnson and others. But you will also notice other flavors in his music such as Jazz, Funk, Soul, R&B, Grunge, Classical, and Heavy Rock.

Born in Miami, Florida to a musical mother that was studying at Miami College of Music. In his early childhood Donnie Ray Flatt discovered her records and was moved to play guitar as soon as he heard Jimi Hendrix. Donnie Has been playing guitar for 36 years. In his younger days he played in many bands and even enjoyed some success in the NJ/NY area however in the end he pursued starting a family and getting a normal job. A few years ago Donnie Ray was drawn back to guitar and at this time began to realize his niche and his sound. The music that was coming to him was nothing like the Hard Rock and Metal he played in his teens and 20s it was closer to the blues and rock he grew up listening to. Donnie Ray Flatt has over 20 songs written and over a dozen recorded as demos. He is planning on releasing a debut CD in the next 6-9 months.
